The Kia Optima is a mid size car that has been on production by Kia Motors since 2000. A mid size car is a standard in North America and Australia for a vehicle with an equal size or greater than the compact car. In Europe this type of vehicle is referred as D segment. The Optima has been globally marketed with several name plates. The first generation of this vehicle was from 2000 through 2005. The third generation of this vehicle started at the end of 2010 to present. The début of the third generation Optima was exhibit at the New York Auto Show 2010.
